The 2010 PASREG Workshop will be held at the historic Omni Shoreham Hotel, centrally located in downtown Washington, D.C. at 2500 Calvert Street NW (at Connecticut Ave) with convenient Metro access. The hotel location gives attendees the opportunity to explore the U.S. Capitol and you will only be a short distance to the White House, U.S. Capitol Building, Historical Monuments and Memorials, Smithsonian Museums and the International Spy Museum.

Transportation

Getting to the Omni Shoreham is easy. Washington, D.C. has three major airports: Washington Dulles International (IAD), Ronald Reagan Washington National (DCA) and Baltimore-Washington International (BWI). All have daily nonstop flights throughout the United States, with IAD and BWI servicing international markets.

The Washington Dulles International is located about 27 miles outside of the capital, in Chantilly, Virginia, a 35- to 45-minute ride to downtown in non-rush-hour traffic. The uncongested airport access road travels half the distance toward Washington, D.C. This airport handles more daily flights than DCA and BWI.

The Ronald Reagan Washington National lies across the Potomac River in Virginia, approximately 5 miles by car, 15 minutes by Metro from downtown in non-rush-hour traffic. Its proximity to the District and its direct access to the Metro rail system are reasons why you might want to fly into National.

The Baltimore-Washington International is located about 30 miles from the hotel. Regarding ground transportation, terminal maps, flight status, and airport facilities for Baltimore-Washington International Airport, please click on: bwiairport.com.

By Taxi: From IAD it will cost about US$70 and will take approximately 45 minutes. From DCA, it will cost about US$20 and will take 45 minutes. From BWI, it will cost about US$80 and will take around 1hour.

By SuperShuttle: From IAD it will cost about US$27 and will take approximately 45 minutes. From DCA, it will cost about US$12 and will take 45 minutes. From BWI, it will cost about US$35 and will take around 1h15.

By Train: Amtrak: (tel. 800/USA-RAIL; amtrak.com) Amtrak trains arrive at historic Union Station: a short walk from the Capitol, across the circle from several hotels, and a short cab or Metro ride from downtown.

Getting around by Metro: Take the Blue line to Metro Center stop. There is an entrance to the Grand Hyatt Washington in the station. The Omni Shoreham Hotel is located off the Red Line Metro at Woodley Park/Zoo, just around the corner heading immediately right then crossing Calvert Street at the end of the block. From BWI, take the MARC train Monday-Friday to Union Station, then the Metro or a Taxi to the hotel. One can also take the B30 bus to Greenbelt Metro (Green Line) then transfer over to the Red Line at Gallery Place/China Town Metro stop, heading in the direction of Shady Grove. From IAD, take the Washington Flyer Shuttle to West Falls Church Metro (Orange Line) then change over to the Red Line at Metro Center, again heading in the direction of Shady Grove. From DCA, take the Blue/Orange Line to Metro Center to transfer over to the Red Line as above. A comprehensive listing of all public transportation options from each airport can be found at commuterpage.com/metroconnect.htm.

Venturing around Washington, D.C. by foot can be a great way to see the city; however the public transportation system is a great resource for further destinations. For the local bus and subway system with its timetables, maps, fares, and more, please visit: wmata.com.
